Challenge soccer teams are competitive in that each player must try out for the team. Challenge players chosen, are skillful enough to keep up with the program.
The focus for Challenge teams is clearly developmental with coaching aimed at acquiring increased technical and then tactical skills. "Winning", although desirable, is never the primary focus of Challenge teams. Playing time shall be equitable, but not necessarily equal as in recreational soccer.
 

    Challenge Policies

• Teams are formed during tryouts each seasonal year. There is no player / coach  "Carryover" or guarantee from seasonal year to year.
• Challenge will be limited to U9/10 – U12 age brackets
• U9 Youth Development Players (YDP)
• U13 & up –  Challenge teams at this age shall be avoided with a drive to Classic.
• Coaches will have a minimum of “D” License or equivalent (“E” for U9/10 only)
• Roster Sizes

  U10 – 10 Players
  U12 – 12 Players

• Player Movement - Players can be moved from Challenge to Classic at anytime based on player development.
• Player Fees

  Coaches fee if applicable - Paid Professional Training 
  Goalkeeper Instruction fee if applicable
  Registration  Fee - $160
  NCYSA Fees included with the Registration Fee
  Field Usage Fees included with the Registration Fee
  Referee Fees included with the Registration Fee

  Team equipment $6 - Internal to the team

EUROSPORT ORDER FORM

Uniform requirements for new Classic teams and current teams wishing to upgrade:

Teams  shall purchase a kit consisting of one White and one Navy Jersey, one Navy Short, and one pair of Navy and one pair of White Socks. All kits shall be numbered with logos as required. New Classic teams and new players to existing teams using the Toque uniform will be required to purchase the uniform from Eurosport. The uniform is the  adidas Toque w/ optional women’s cut short and Copa Sock.  The cost is about $85 per complete kit.

NBASA is offering the  adidas Velocity Tech Backpack in Navy with a ball pouch for around $40 is optional.
