Philosophy

  • The Academy Program is for U8 - U10 boys and girls and will be
the key to your Childs ongoing success. NBASA is committed to the development of our players love for the game and development as a player.

  •  It is the US Youth Soccer National Directors of Coaching and

our experience that focusing on wins at the younger ages has
never translate into success at the older ages unless players learn and understand more of the game through age-appropriate training sessions that focus on player development.

  • The Academy Program philosophy is to emphasize player
development over team development and focus on the technical development of each child without the pressures of short-term wins/losses/results.

  • The Academy Program is strictly a player’s development program.
The Academy’s philosophy is one of playing to learn and minimizing
the intense pressure to win. This philosophy transcends every
    training session and match.

  •  The Academy coaching staff is specially selected and trained to
provide this introduction to select soccer in an environment
conducive to Learning and having Fun!

  •  The goal of the program is to seek individual improvement of each player through high level training without the pressure of
    competitions and results.

  • Academy Goals

    1. Create an atmosphere where young players are exposed to the game with an emphasis on skill development more than team development.

    2. Maintain an environment where players are allowed to flourish in a competitive arena in which the focus of quality soccer is more important than short-term success of winning versus losing.

    3. Educate our players and parents in the development process and club values.

    4. We'll measure learning and fun, not scores and standings!

  • Additionally, the developmental nature of the program causes us to schedule more games and scrimmages than an ordinary recreation league. As a result we will have some double header matches on game days. Matches are scheduled with other academy programs in the area, sometimes in outlying areas. We will travel to these other venues approximately 50% of the schedule or less. Scrimmages games can played be with any other team.

  • Trainers are selected based on their experience as  teachers of the game. As a Club, we are very fortunate to have qualified trainers who are dedicated to both the Classics / Challenge Soccer and the development of young girls and boys into well rounded athletes and people. They take pride in conducting well-organized training sessions, with a focus on building the complete soccer player, making sessions both challenging and FUN.
